Background
From 2009-2010 I studied at the New Media and Web Development Program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology in Vancouver, Canada. BCIT was a fantastic place to study. Rather than simply learning the theory behind what we were studying, we were constantly challenged by our instructors to figure out the real-world applications of the subjectmatter. Here's a clip of me talking about my experiences at the school, and why I enjoyed it so much (please excuse the editing job; I didn't edit this video, I only spoke in it).
While at BCIT I was fortunate enough to learn about HTML, XHTML, XML, Javascript, PHP, Google Analytics, Wordpress, Dreamweaver and a variety of other web development languages and platforms. While I'm not a professional web developer, I deal with the technical side of websites all day long as the SEO Manager at Cymax Stores and as an SEO consultant. While they're not live anymore, below are some screenshots of a few of the sites I've built in the past.
